about us

“The best malfunction is the one that doesn’t happen.”

Our technology is a good example of when artificial intelligence and human knowledge support each other to reach the desired state.

We defined this state in the following 2 points:

  • Infrastructure must never endanger the immediate human environment.
  • Continuous monitoring of the infrastructure, be it railways or electricity distribution networks, is a prerequisite for continuous security of supply.

Our group provides assistance in this by integrating the benefits of artificial intelligence into your business processes.

What we do

Solutions for innovation

Save time on inspection process

Our machine vision technology can quickly and accurately detect and analyze data from high-resolution satellite and drone imagery, reducing inspection time and improving accuracy.

Real-time insights

Our algorithms can process real-time data from sensors and cameras to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the status of critical infrastructure.

Vegetation analysis

Satellite imagery combined with AI enables you to accurately identify vegetation risks and impacts at any spot, any time.

Railway networks

Machine learning is an important tool for predicting where track maintenance will be needed. Daily updated spatial database of objects in the railway environment – a great tool for monitoring and asset management

Corona discharge

With our unique sensor, we find network faults that cannot be detected by other sensors or the human eye. The timely correction of errors detected by the sensor reduces the number of malfunctions and ensures the stability of the supply.

Electric distribution networks

The security of the energy supply is crucial, the support of the daily activities of the distribution and transmission system operators, as well as the network monitoring are top priority national economic issues in every country.

Data collection in space

Vegetation monitoring system

  • A substantial part of the failures in the overhead power lines network can be attributed to lush vegetation growing along the lines.
  • A significant part of maintenance costs is made up by the power lines safety zone cleaning costs and vegetation management works.
  • Therefore, it is important that these activities are managed in a controlled and efficient way.It is possible to carry out the works management under the enterprise system – by providing data from the environment or within an independent IT system – by importing enterprise master data.

rail

Data collection on rail

Machine vision and AI in railroad services

  • Determination of track planes and gradients
  • Daily updated spatial database on objects in the railway environment – a great tool in supervision and asset management.
  • After detected objects are entered in the database, it is possible to check the same object, to determine its status, its existence or absence with each new survey.

Frequently asked questions

If you have any question, please let us know, and we will publish the answer.

The HAWK system platform is a ready-made framework that can be adapted to the unique system of any service provider. (SAP, AZURE…etc) Integration is part of the service fee. The data recorded by the sensors is processed by AI, which is why the costs are also optimized by default. Except for individual needs, the customer only pays a service fee.

Different needs may arise for each customer. For example, a customer wants to connect our system with another existing system and requests unique customer-specific reports on individual customer data in addition to the usual standard reports.

The input data of the HAWK system platform is provided by various sensors. (Normal photo, LIDAR, Thermal camera, Corona sensor, Satellite images…)
The business need arises from the fact that certain types of errors must be reported IMMEDIATELY and therefore eliminated. That’s why we developed our on-board system so that it can report predetermined and trained errors to the central systems in real time. In practice, the car passes an electric pole, and error detection takes milliseconds, and the processed data, its exact GIS correlation and a small thumbnail image are immediately sent via the mobile communication of the on-board system. This way, the dispatcher sees the error message and a photo, based on which he can initiate immediate intervention.
Without attempting to be comprehensive, the technology should be used in the following examples (and in many more cases):
Electric cabinet door is damaged or open and accessible to anyone.
The clearly visible grounding is broken or damaged.
Vegetation directly touches the line. (extremely life-threatening – e.g. in rainy weather and fire-hazardous – in severe drought)

The HAWK system platform includes the following main elements:
Data collection
Data processing – where appropriate, in real time.
Integration, Reporting

1 euro means that we simply multiply the object numbers specified by the service provider in the contract by 1 euro, which is the annual cost, and divide this back into a monthly fee (1/12). The fee includes the following main elements:

  • Installation to the client’s environment
  • On-board AI system (for drone and car)
  • Unlimited data collection/data processing/evaluation (unlimited number of data collection cycles)

What the customer pays at his own expense is the direct cost of operating the vehicle, as well as the cost of drone data collection if required as a service. We provide detailed information about this during the introduction of the process.

It is also true for electrical and railway networks that basically the main structural elements (supporting columns, insulators, wires, etc.) look similar along the network. It is also true that visual inspection (human eyes and knowledge of people) is necessary for all service providers. We integrate this knowledge into our AI platform, which means continuous teaching. Of course, each service provider works with a unique error dictionary, so the exact definition of these errors is a particularly important task.

The principle of our system is very simple.

  • We trained the sensors to recognize relevant objects
  • After that, they will detect the errors that deviate from the standard (from the expected sufficient condition).
  • They indicate these errors, in a way that we can match the exact location to the client’s GIS system and, of course, indicate the time of the observations.
  • Time is extremely important, because based on the frequency of data collection, we can pay attention to changes, and the system can indicate the fact of the change and, where applicable, its extent. (e.g. the angle of the support structure measured from the vertical plane is constant, or it changes at a rapid rate. Such an error can be life-threatening, it is a huge operational safety risk.)
  • Based on the faulty components, we can categorize parts of the network into a risk matrix, and we can schedule/plan maintenance based on the matrix.
Risk Matrix

Do we agree on the individual error dictionary during the ordering process?
Yes. That is why we specifically recommend DEMO presentations so that the customer is aware of the possibilities and limitations at the moment of the actual order. In this series of consultations, we assess the actual customer needs and discuss the error dictionary. The error dictionary can vary significantly from customer to customer.

  • In general, signs and markings (e.g., watch out for high voltage, identifiers) are extremely important for all service providers due to legal compliance
  • The existence and condition of a single structural element (column structure, cross arm, wires, insulators, switches, distribution cabinets) means different needs/expectations. (e.g. in the case of insulation breakage, the extent of the breakage affects the classification of the fault)

Our electrical engineers support customers’ ideas and needs in preparing the error dictionary.

Our answer is clearly NO. But that’s not our goal. We have a saying that if I use AI for something that it can definitely solve, then I can show quick results and ROI. It is fundamentally true that what the human eye sees and the human brain understands, machine vision and artificial intelligence can learn. That’s why we recommend focusing on those network errors that pose a serious risk.
